Hexagon has successfully acquired Septentrio NV, a prominent developer of GPS/GNSS positioning technologies tailored for autonomous and mission-critical applications.
Within Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, which encompasses the positioning solutions provider NovAtel, the focus is on creating complete solutions that enhance autonomy platforms, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
This acquisition is set to bolster Hexagon’s leadership in providing reliable and assured positioning solutions, granting users enhanced access to high-precision positioning technologies that are optimized for size, weight, and power consumption.
The integration of both companies’ offerings will expedite the adoption of autonomous systems and cater to the demands of rapidly growing sectors such as robotics, UAVs, and other mission-critical applications.
Based in Leuven, Belgium, Septentrio will maintain its operational model of delivering cutting-edge GNSS technology to its extensive network of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) clients.
