Trillium has released an updated version of its SkyLink gimbal user interface software, now at Version 24.1, following the previous 23.2 firmware update.
This latest iteration, SkyLink Version 24.1,introduces features such as automatic gimbal connections within the network,accurate measurements from video streams,Splash-to-Target functionality,and advanced distance and bearing mapping capabilities.
Designed with user-friendliness in mind, Trillium’s skylink software streamlines operations, reducing the training required for operators and facilitating the effective execution of UAS missions.
The new Version 24.1 is compatible with all types of Trillium gimbals and adheres to the company’s updated software versioning system (year, major release number, unique ID).

Enhancements and New Features:
- The gimbal’s MAC address will now remain consistent across power cycles.
- Introduction of laser temperature reporting.
- Geolocation services are enabled by default for compatible gimbals.
Updates to OrionSDK:
- TleStatus and TleCommand packets are now publicly accessible.
- TrackOptions packet is now available to the public.
- A new SDK example has been created to modify object track size using the TrackOptions packet.
- Resolved a build issue related to FFMPEG linking in the VideoPlayer example.
- A check for special flags in double precision KLV tags has been added in the VideoPlayer example.

New Features and Improvements:
- LD Armed and Active statuses have been added to SkyLink CSV outputs.
- Laser temperature readings are now included in the system telemetry tab.
- SkyLink has been updated to support GeoJSON RFC7946 formatted files for snapshots.
- Indications for turning fine pan or tilt on/off with an Xbox controller have been added.
- When entering Geopoint mode via a double-click on the map, the gimbal will remain in Geopoint mode instead of reverting to Scene mode.
- SkyLink and OrionUi can now search all system network adapters, including loopback options.
- OrionUi has gained the ability to edit orionconfig files without requiring a gimbal.
- A Stability Test Suite (STS) has been introduced for vibration testing,accessible from OrionUi or as a standalone feature.
