In a groundbreaking initiative, Slovenia’s national postal service, Pošta Slovenija, has embarked on its inaugural drone delivery trial.This venture utilizes a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) crafted by ElevonX, with operational support from the UAS service provider, onedrone.
Successful delivery to Remote Locations
The trial successfully demonstrated the delivery of a package to the Vršič mountain pass, showcasing the potential of drone technology in reaching hard-to-access areas. However,current regulations in Slovenia restrict BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) operations,hindering widespread adoption of this innovative delivery method. Pošta Slovenija is keen to participate in shaping future regulations that will facilitate the broader use of UAVs for delivery services.
