SwissDrones has introduced the SDO 50 V2, a versatile Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) helicopter UAV, to the Asia-Pacific market. this advanced drone is capable of operating beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) and boasts an extraordinary payload capacity of 45 kg (99 lbs), along with a flight endurance exceeding three hours.

The SDO 50 V2 is being made available in Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region through Éire Aviation, a company renowned for its extensive experience in manned aviation. Innovative Design and Functionality

Utilizing the Flettner system, the SDO 50 V2 features intermeshing twin rotors that rotate in opposite directions. Each rotor mast is slightly angled to prevent blade collision, resulting in enhanced payload capacity, extended flight time, and stable flight dynamics. This design eliminates the need for a tail rotor, optimizing power usage and considerably improving the payload-to-weight ratio.

Operational Efficiency and Minimal Infrastructure Needs

This unmanned helicopter is designed for long-range operations with minimal ground support and infrastructure requirements. It can be conveniently transported by van, allowing a two-person crew to set it up in under 15 minutes, making it highly efficient for various applications.

Environmental Benefits and Fuel Versatility
