Technology Spotlight: Low Latency C2 for UAVs with Iridium Certus SATCOM Solutions

Discover how SKYTRAC’s low-latency, global connectivity technologies utilize Iridium Certus-powered SATCOM solutions to provide reliable command and control for UAVs and uncrewed systems

Low Latency Command & Control for UAVs with Iridium Certus Satcom Solutions

SKYTRAC, a leading provider of Iridium Certus-based satellite communication solutions, delivers high-reliability, low-latency command and control (C2) capabilities for UAVs, RPAS, and UAM platforms operating in the most demanding environments.

Leveraging Iridium’s truly global LEO satellite network, SKYTRAC offers seamless connectivity anywhere on the planet at speeds of up to 704 Kbps.

Designed for a broad spectrum of mission-critical applications, from cargo delivery and mapping to government surveillance and scientific research, SKYTRAC’s SATCOM terminals ensure uninterrupted control and data transmission for uncrewed systems operating beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

SKYTRAC’s C2 capabilities enable operators to maintain uninterrupted broadband and midband L-band communications with uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) worldwide. Designed for aviation, Iridium Certus uses the pole-to-pole LEO network, which is unaffected by weather or terrestrial obstacles, providing consistent performance and real-time responsiveness with latency under 2 milliseconds on the Iridium NEXT network..

Systems like SKYTRAC’s IMS, the DLS-100, and the DLS-140 support custom SWaP and interface requirements and enable users to choose between broadband and midband L-band options for operational efficiency.

Featured Products

DLS-140 Datalink

A compact, dual-mode communications terminal featuring both Iridium Certus 100 satellite and 3G/4G LTE cellular connectivity.
