TEKEVER Collaborates with CNES to Innovate Satellite Communication
TEKEVER has announced a meaningful partnership with the French Space Agency, CNES, to explore advanced Inter-Satellite Link (ISL) technologies through its innovative software-defined radio, GAMALINK, aimed at improving satellite communication.
Project Goals and Future Missions
This collaboration focuses on developing engineering prototypes of ISL systems equipped with ranging and synchronization features, which are essential for an upcoming space mission. This mission will investigate the internal composition of a geo cruiser asteroid. Furthermore, these prototypes will assist CNES in managing satellite swarms, ultimately contributing to the creation of distributed sensors for enhanced space exploration.
Strengthening European Presence
TEKEVER emphasizes that this contract highlights its growing influence in the European market, notably following the recent inauguration of a new space hub in Toulouse, France, a key city in the European space industry. This declaration comes shortly after the company secured a €3.2 million agreement to supply GAMALINK technology for the European Space Agency’s Comet Interceptor mission.
Expert Insights
Nadia Maaref, the Space Director at TEKEVER, remarked, “TEKEVER has established itself as a reliable partner for some of the most refined missions undertaken by the European Space Agency. This new partnership with CNES further solidifies our standing and showcases the leading-edge nature of our GAMALINK technology. By collaborating with CNES, we aim to enhance inter-satellite communication and broaden our capabilities in Earth Observation. Facilitating communication between satellites ensures they can operate in unison.”
