Teledyne Gavia Enhances Icelandic Operations to Meet Growing AUV Demand

Teledyne Marine Gavia has substantially expanded its Engineering and Production facilities located in Kopavogur, Iceland, while also increasing its workforce across engineering, manufacturing, and support sectors.

Responding to Market Needs

This expansion is a direct response to the rising demand for both the Gavia class systems, which require lower logistics, and the larger Osprey and SeaRaptor Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).

Strengthening Operations

The improvements will enhance operations at the Gavia facilities in Iceland and bolster support roles for the north American market, especially in North Falmouth, Massachusetts.

A Legacy of Innovation

With a rich history in Autonomous Underwater Vehicle technology, Teledyne Gavia has been manufacturing the Gavia 1000m rated AUV since 2003. In 2018, the company introduced the SeaRaptor 6000m AUV to its lineup. By 2022, the Osprey 2000m rated AUV was launched, and the company is currently developing an air-deployed variant of the Gavia, set to debut in late 2024.
