Teledyne Marine’s Innovative Solutions at SeaSEC Challenge 2025

teledyne Marine, in partnership with Teledyne Geospatial, participated in the SeaSEC Challenge 2025 (SCW25), a global initiative aimed at evaluating and validating maritime security technologies in realistic operational settings.

Event Overview

Taking place off the coast of Scheveningen, Netherlands, this two-week event gathered defense officials, industry experts, and research institutions from six different countries to tackle the urgent need for safeguarding vital underwater infrastructure.

Engagement in Complex Missions

Teledyne Marine was actively involved in all three intricate missions of the challenge, demonstrating a range of multi-technology solutions that included sonar systems, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), hydrophones, and more.

Mission 1: Sea What’s Ther

in the first mission, titled Sea What’s there, Teledyne employed a blend of passive acoustic monitoring and forward-looking sonar technology to detect and monitor uncooperative underwater vehicles in real time. The data collected was transmitted live to shore-based teams through Teledyne’s integrated interaction systems.

Mission 2: No Pipe to Lose

The second mission, No Pipe to Lose, concentrated on identifying potential threats near underwater pipelines. For this task, Teledyne deployed the Gavia AUV, outfitted with multibeam sonar, alongside a trencher equipped with the HydroPACT pipe tracker. The simultaneous surveys conducted by an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) and a customary survey vessel showcased the adaptability and scalability of Teledyne’s maritime solutions.

Mission 3: Fishy Finds

In the concluding mission, Fishy Finds, participants were tasked with identifying anomalies on the seabed by comparing real-time sonar data with previously mapped regions, with baseline data provided by Teledyne. Utilizing SeaBat sonars from both USVs and AUVs, and supported by Teledyne Geospatial’s lidar platform and advanced PDS software, Teledyne Marine facilitated rapid and precise detection of suspicious activities on the seabed.
