Teledyne Marine has entered into a partnership with the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) to supply and maintain GAVIA Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) specifically designed for Mine Counter Measures (MCM) operations.
This Framework Agreement comes after the Swedish Defense Material administration (FMV) selected the GAVIA AUV, which achieved the highest score in meeting their technical specifications during an international open tender held last year.
The GAVIA AUV, equipped with an EdgeTech 2205 side scan sonar and a teledyne FLIR Blackfly-S camera, offers notable versatility. Its modular design allows the Swedish Navy to integrate additional payloads, such as synthetic aperture sonar, magnetometers, or multibeam systems, as mission needs change.Teledyne Gavia specializes in providing comprehensive Autonomous Underwater vehicle survey solutions for a range of military, scientific, and commercial applications.
Johan Björck, Strategic Buyer at FMV, remarked, “the portable MCM AUV will be deployed from various platforms, enabling swift seabed mapping and the identification of various objects of interest.”

The Framework Agreement is set to span several years,with options for future extensions. Teledyne Flir AB in Sweden will provide ongoing in-country support throughout the duration of the agreement.
