Teledyne Marine has launched its groundbreaking Vertical Detection Mode (VDM), now available as a complimentary upgrade for all SeaBat T-Series sonar systems.

This innovative feature is poised to transform the detection of vertical structures underwater, offering unprecedented precision.

Challenges in Customary Sonar Systems

Historically, multibeam sonar systems have encountered importent difficulties in accurately identifying vertical structures. Common issues include multipath interference, which can severely compromise data integrity. Conventional bottom detection algorithms frequently enough fall short in effectively navigating the complexities of these underwater environments.

Revolutionizing Vertical Structure Surveys

With the advent of VDM, Teledyne Marine has set a new benchmark for vertical structure surveys, enhancing accuracy and data quality, especially in challenging conditions influenced by multipath interference from elements like sheet pilings.

VDM employs a ‘purist’ methodology, ensuring that each detection is evaluated independently, free from the influence of neighboring beams or ancient data. This approach guarantees that true features are captured with utmost fidelity, preserving the detail and integrity of vertical structures.
