Introducing Trimble’s Advanced GNSS Smart Antennas for Unmanned Systems
Trimble has unveiled two cutting-edge Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) smart antennas, designed to enhance a variety of unmanned systems and robotics applications. These include autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), precision agriculture, and mobile mapping solutions.
High-Precision Performance with Multi-Constellation Support
The Trimble AX940 and AX940i models are engineered to support multiple frequencies and constellations, including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC. Thay deliver reliable centimeter-level accuracy across diverse environmental conditions.Notably, both antennas can utilize Trimble RTX correction services, eliminating the need for a local base station or cellular modem. The AX940i model is further enhanced with integrated inertial sensors, wich work seamlessly with GNSS data in the RTK/RTX positioning and orientation engine, ensuring continuous, high-rate, low-latency output for unmanned vehicle navigation and control systems.
Innovative Technology and Connectivity Features
Equipped with 336 channels, these smart antennas leverage Trimble Maxwell 7 technology, which facilitates flexible signal management and allows for the utilization of all available GNSS constellations and signals. Both models support Trimble RTX and OmniSTAR services and offer versatile interfaces, including RS232, USB, CAN, and Ethernet. The AX940i also boasts WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities for wireless control and connectivity.
streamlined Integration and User-Friendly Design
Designed for ease of use, both antennas feature high-speed data transfer and configuration options, along with an intuitive 3D graphical web interface that simplifies the input of lever arm data for quick setup. This streamlined integration considerably reduces advancement time for system integrators.
Expert Insights on the New Smart Antennas
Thomas Utzmeier, the general manager for Trimble OEM GNSS, stated, “The new AX family of smart antennas combines the latest advancements in GNSS and inertial technology within a rugged and easy-to-integrate design. These reliable and compact antennas are perfect for OEMs and system integrators looking to quickly incorporate high-accuracy positioning into their applications.”
