The ProtectUAV™ parachute system for UAVs
In a strategic collaboration, skygraphics AG has joined forces with UAV Propulsion Tech to introduce the ProtectUAV™ parachute system for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) across North America.
Originating from Germany, the ProtectUAV™ system is engineered by skygraphics AG and enables UAVs to execute landings without the need for conventional runways or net recovery setups. This innovative technology not only safeguards the UAV but also its payload during critical emergency scenarios. The design draws upon skygraphics’ extensive expertise in creating rescue systems tailored for paragliders.
The ProtectUAV™ system ensures that UAVs can land securely at the end of their missions or in the event of an unexpected loss of control. This solution effectively protects both the UAV and its cargo from potential damage while also reducing risks to individuals and property below. The system is adaptable for various UAV types—including fixed-wing,helicopters,and multirotors—capable of handling weights ranging from 20 to 200 kg. Notably, it is indeed more compact and lightweight compared to other market alternatives and can be reused for over ten deployments.
