Introducing the D2 Coaxial Octocopter: A Versatile Aerial Solution
The D2 octocopter platform stands out with its extraordinary payload capacity of 40 pounds, making it ideal for critical missions that require redundancy in motor functions. Its innovative design features dual payload rails on both the top and bottom, enhancing its adaptability for various applications. The airframe is engineered to house batteries internally and centrally aligned across all three axes, which optimizes flight stability and performance. This configuration also facilitates easy storage in its transport case without the hassle of battery removal.
Designed for convenience, the D2’s arms and landing gear are collapsible, enhancing its portability. additionally, the landing gear can be detached to accommodate Copterworks’ upcoming range of quick-release payload accessories. The onboard electronics are securely housed in three sealed compartments, ensuring robust protection against moisture, dust, and adverse weather conditions.
Most of the high-quality electronic components utilized in the D2 are standard off-the-shelf items, enabling users to perform some repairs independently without needing to return the unit to Copterworks. The complete D2 package comes equipped with a Pixhawk Cube flight controller and Herelink Ground Control Station (GCS) as standard features. Customers can also request the following optional upgrades:
