Innovative High-Resolution Subsea Imaging and Power Technologies for Commercial, Scientific & Military Underwater Survey Missions

Canada

Kraken Robotics stands at the forefront of developing advanced subsea imaging and power solutions for unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), catering to commercial, scientific, and military sectors engaged in complex underwater exploration. Our cutting-edge technologies facilitate safe, efficient, and enduring ocean exploration, with applications spanning oil and gas, offshore energy, oceanographic research, and defense, among others.

Beyond our standard product offerings,we provide Robotics as a Service (raas) packages, which encompass geophysical, sonar, and LiDAR survey services.

Kraken SAS

Miniature Synthetic Aperture Sonar with High Resolution

Kraken MINSAS Synthetic Aperture SonarKraken’s compact interferometric synthetic aperture sonar offers unparalleled constant high resolution across a swath of 200 meters on each side, while simultaneously capturing bathymetric data. The system is designed with a modular array available in lengths of 60, 120, and 180 cm, making it adaptable for integration into UUVs of various sizes.

Kraken Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS)

This system processes raw sonar data into SAS tiles in real-time, storing them on an internal hard drive or an optional removable data pod. this feature enables embedded Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and efficient data exfiltration of processed SAS data, considerably minimizing post-mission analysis time.

kraken SAS enhances survey efficiency, potentially reducing mission durations by up to threefold.

Kraken MP-SAS

Compact Synthetic Aperture Sonar for Portable UUVs

Kraken MP-SAS

The Kraken MP-SAS (Man-Portable Synthetic Aperture Sonar) revolutionizes imaging for portable UUVs, achieving a swath of 100m per side at a resolution of 2 x 2 cm. Leveraging Kraken SAS technology,it incorporates lightweight transducers and other SWaP optimizations, enabling deployment on platforms previously deemed too small for SAS equipment.

Kraken Man-Portable Synthetic Aperture SonarThe MP-SAS modular payload section allows retrofitting to small UUVs with diameters ranging from 7.5 to 9 inches, facilitating straightforward in-field installation without recalibration. This proven solution has been successfully integrated into vehicles over 20 years old, providing a considerable capability enhancement at a fraction of the cost of acquiring new UUVs.

KATFISHâ„¢

High-Resolution Towfish with SAS Technology

KATFISHKATFISH Synthetic Aperture Sonar Towfishâ„¢ is an actively stabilized Synthetic Aperture Sonar towfish that achieves extraordinary resolutions of 2 x 2 cm. Operating at speeds of up to 10 knots, it significantly outperforms slower ROV and AUV systems, enhancing Area Coverage Rates (ACR) and minimizing survey durations and operational costs.

SAS imagery

KATFISHâ„¢ enables real-time viewing of 3 x 3 cm resolution data onboard the towing vessel or transmission to a mothership or shore-based command center. It can be swiftly deployed from various vessels using an autonomous LARS (launch and recovery system).

SeaPowerâ„¢ Batteries

Long-Lasting Batteries for Underwater Vehicles

SeaPower Pressure Neutral BatteriesOur SeaPowerâ„¢ rechargeable batteries are engineered for superior energy density and endurance, designed as a modular solution adaptable for various platforms, from small to extra-large unmanned underwater vehicles.

These advanced batteries utilize pressure-tolerant Li-ion pouch cells embedded in a silicon polymer matrix, eliminating the need for bulky housings or oil compensation.Multiple units can be interconnected to create power banks of up to 5 MW,and a rapid charger allows simultaneous recharging of up to nine batteries, significantly reducing mission downtime.

SeaPower Pressure Tolerant Subsea Batteries

Rated for depths of up to 10,000 meters, SeaPowerâ„¢ batteries are meticulously designed for optimal safety and reliability at the cell, battery, and system levels, adhering to U.S. Navy and maritime safety and transportation standards.
