Kraken Robotics stands at the forefront of developing advanced subsea imaging and power solutions for unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), catering to commercial, scientific, and military sectors engaged in complex underwater exploration. Our cutting-edge technologies facilitate safe, efficient, and enduring ocean exploration, with applications spanning oil and gas, offshore energy, oceanographic research, and defense, among others.
Beyond our standard product offerings,we provide Robotics as a Service (raas) packages, which encompass geophysical, sonar, and LiDAR survey services.
Kraken SAS
Miniature Synthetic Aperture Sonar with High Resolution

This system processes raw sonar data into SAS tiles in real-time, storing them on an internal hard drive or an optional removable data pod. this feature enables embedded Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and efficient data exfiltration of processed SAS data, considerably minimizing post-mission analysis time.
kraken SAS enhances survey efficiency, potentially reducing mission durations by up to threefold.
Kraken MP-SAS
Compact Synthetic Aperture Sonar for Portable UUVs
The Kraken MP-SAS (Man-Portable Synthetic Aperture Sonar) revolutionizes imaging for portable UUVs, achieving a swath of 100m per side at a resolution of 2 x 2 cm. Leveraging Kraken SAS technology,it incorporates lightweight transducers and other SWaP optimizations, enabling deployment on platforms previously deemed too small for SAS equipment.

KATFISHâ„¢
High-Resolution Towfish with SAS Technology
KATFISH
KATFISHâ„¢ enables real-time viewing of 3 x 3 cm resolution data onboard the towing vessel or transmission to a mothership or shore-based command center. It can be swiftly deployed from various vessels using an autonomous LARS (launch and recovery system).
SeaPowerâ„¢ Batteries
Long-Lasting Batteries for Underwater Vehicles

These advanced batteries utilize pressure-tolerant Li-ion pouch cells embedded in a silicon polymer matrix, eliminating the need for bulky housings or oil compensation.Multiple units can be interconnected to create power banks of up to 5 MW,and a rapid charger allows simultaneous recharging of up to nine batteries, significantly reducing mission downtime.
Rated for depths of up to 10,000 meters, SeaPowerâ„¢ batteries are meticulously designed for optimal safety and reliability at the cell, battery, and system levels, adhering to U.S. Navy and maritime safety and transportation standards.
Our Services
Subsea LiDAR Solutions
Our 3D at Depth subsidiary provides a variety of advanced underwater LiDAR solutions that facilitate high-resolution 3D point cloud data acquisition and detailed modeling for sectors such as offshore energy, environmental studies, construction, underwater archaeology, and more.
Sub-Bottom imaging Services
Our Sub-Bottom Imager (SBI) employs cutting-edge beamforming SAS arrays to visualize up to 5 meters beneath the seabed, delivering precise 3D data for identifying buried objects, anomalies, geohazards, and stratigraphy, applicable in cable and pipeline assessments and unexploded ordnance (UXO) surveys.
This versatile system can be mounted on vessels for nearshore applications, work-class ROVs for deep-sea tasks, or on our SeaKite towed vehicle for high-speed data collection.
Acoustic Coring Technology
Our Acoustic Corer utilizes sophisticated acoustic technology for sub-seabed exploration, enhancing offshore installation projects. By integrating geophysical and geotechnical investigation methods,it produces a 3D acoustic core with a diameter of 14 m and depths exceeding 50 m,depending on the geological conditions.
Towed SAS Survey Services
We provide comprehensive towed SAS survey packages utilizing our high-resolution KATFISH towfish platform, delivering superior data quality with broader swaths and faster speeds compared to conventional towed sidescan sonar. Our expert team manages the entire project, conducts all necessary surveys, and provides a complete data package.
