The VPX3U-ORIN-CX7-HPC module is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of C5ISR applications, serving as a secure computing node that integrates cutting-edge AI and high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities. This module ensures rapid data transfer and incorporates essential cybersecurity features to safeguard sensitive facts. Aligned with the SOSA standard, it boasts an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin and an NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC.
At the heart of the NVIDIA Orin is an embedded Ampere GPU, which is equipped with CUDA cores and Tensor cores that facilitate a range of functions including data processing, deep learning inference, machine vision, audio processing, and video encoding/decoding. With 2048 CUDA cores dedicated to floating-point and integer processing, alongside 64 Gen3 Tensor cores, this architecture supports an efficient inference engine capable of delivering up to 275 TOPS (INT8) in deep learning inference performance.
The NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC enhances the module’s capabilities by providing secure, high-speed network data transfer along with a configurable PCIe Gen5 switch. This component is especially well-suited for the stringent data transfer and security needs of C5ISR operations. Additionally, the ConnectX-7 supports RDMA over Converged Ethernet (roce) and NVIDIA GPUDirect, which facilitates the fastest data transfer methods between the network and the GPU.
To achieve optimal performance, effective cooling solutions are essential. WOLF’s innovative cooling technology is specifically designed to efficiently transfer heat from the high-temperature chip die to the wedgelocks, ensuring reliable operation.
