Introducing Trillium Engineering: Innovators in UAV Gimbal Technology
Trillium Engineering stands at the forefront of developing advanced camera gimbal systems tailored for tactical drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).UST is thrilled to announce our partnership with Trillium, and we will be showcasing their innovative solutions and expertise across our platforms over the coming year.
we have recently unveiled Trillium’s UST supplier profile, crafted in collaboration with their team. this Platinum profile highlights their state-of-the-art imaging technologies, which have been integrated into several top-tier unmanned aircraft systems, including the Textron Systems aerosonde utilized by the U.S. Army, the Quantum-Systems Vector, and the Martin UAV V-BAT.
Explore Trillium’s Advanced UAV Gimbals
Among Trillium’s offerings is the HD25, a lightweight and compact gimbal designed for drone cameras. It provides 720p HD digital video output compliant with H.264 standards, featuring a 3x optical zoom visible camera and an optional fixed focal length uncooled LWIR camera. The integrated GPS-aided inertial navigation system (INS) is aligned with the cameras, enabling real-time geopointing and precise geolocation for accurate target tracking.
Next, the HD40 represents a cutting-edge gimbal available in a 30x optical zoom electro-optical (EO) configuration or as an EO/infrared (IR) system, which includes a 10x optical zoom visible camera alongside a fixed focal length uncooled LWIR camera. This gimbal is equipped with advanced software capabilities such as scene and target tracking, and it features an 850 nm laser pointer compatible with night vision.
The HD45 is another robust and lightweight option, combining both visible and LWIR cameras with optical zoom features. It also includes an 850 nm night vision-compatible laser pointer. The onboard inertial measurement unit (IMU) can be upgraded to achieve 1-degree accuracy, ensuring top-tier geolocation and geopointing. Users can choose between a 5x optical zoom uncooled LWIR camera or a 5x or 10x optical zoom visible camera.
For those seeking versatility, the HD55 offers dual EO camera functionality or EO/IR capabilities, along with an 850 nm laser pointer for accurate and discreet targeting. Its advanced GPS-aided INS provides extraordinary accuracy of up to 0.5 degrees, facilitating optimal real-time geopointing and geolocation. The video output adheres to both H.264 and H.265 compression standards.
The HD80 is a powerful gimbal known for its exceptional stability and adaptability for both day and night operations. It features advanced embedded video processing capabilities, including scene and target tracking, allowing for precise real-time location of both stationary and moving targets. This gimbal is available in a dual EO camera setup or various EO/IR configurations, including MWIR and LWIR thermal imaging options.
Lastly, the HD95 is a size, weight, and power (SWaP)-optimized EO/IR gimbal developed to meet the U.S. Army’s Future Vertical Lift UAS specifications. It is indeed engineered for advanced aerial reconnaissance and imaging, featuring a global shutter EO camera, MWIR and SWIR thermal cameras, along with a laser pointer, laser rangefinder, and a STANAG 3733-compliant laser target designator.
