All engine designs, developments, and manufacturing processes are conducted in Germany. Beyond offering complete Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) propulsion systems, we also specialize in creating customized engine variants and enhancing the capacity of existing combustion engines to meet specific client needs.

Our gasoline and Heavy fuel engines for UAVs come in one- or two-cylinder configurations, rigorously tested to withstand extreme conditions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. We also offer patented engine mufflers to minimize noise emissions.

Engines with a displacement of 55 cc or more can be supplied in a twin-spark configuration, featuring independent ignition systems. This enhances quiet operation, boosts safety, and ensures redundancy. Fuel injection options are also available.

The SP-28 is our lightest single-cylinder engine,weighing only 2.95 lbs.

SP-55 Single-Cylinder UAV Engine

The SP-55 single-cylinder engine can be configured with either a carburettor or fuel injection, along with a twin-spark plug option. Its compact design includes a rear output shaft, facilitating generator attachment. All variants are equipped with our HKZ215 ignition and ECU030 control unit.

The SP-55 FI TS ROS is the smallest single-cylinder engine with a rear output shaft in our lineup. A heavy fuel variant of the SP-55 is available upon request.

The SP-110 weighs 6.39 lbs and can be configured with either a carburettor or fuel injection, along with a twin-spark plug option.

A generator can be attached to the rear output shaft, and fuel injection electronics can be housed in an optional external enclosure mounted atop the cylinders.

The SP-170 is a 170cc two-cylinder engine that can be configured with either a carburettor or fuel injection, along with a twin-spark plug option.

The SP-210 is a 170cc two-cylinder engine capable of delivering up to 13.41 hp/10 kW at 6000 RPM.It can be configured with either a carburettor or fuel injection,along with a twin-spark plug option.

A generator can be mounted on the rear output shaft, and fuel injection electronics can be housed in an optional external enclosure mounted atop the cylinders.

The heavy fuel variant of the SP-210, featuring fuel injection and twin-spark operation, utilizes a kerosene-oil mix of 50:1 with JET A, JET A1, or JP-8.This high-reliability system includes a newly designed kerosene heating unit that works in tandem with the engine management unit during startup.

The SP-275 is our most powerful twin-cylinder UAS engine, delivering up to 25.73 hp/18.92 kW. It can be configured with either a carburettor or fuel injection, along with a twin-spark plug option. heavy fuel variants are available upon request.

The SP-275 TS CR variant is specifically designed for target drone applications, featuring a rear carburettor and a low-profile design optimized for high-speed training flights with minimal aerodynamic drag.

SP-180 SRE Wankel Rotary Engine for UAV

The SP-180 SRE is a Wankel engine designed for UAVs, featuring a compact hybrid electrical architecture and an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio. An optional hybrid-boost mode can provide an additional 15 kW of power,enhancing payload capacity and take-off performance for both fixed-wing and VTOL UAVs.

The SP-180 SRE can operate on either gasoline or heavy fuel. Its housing is water-cooled, while the rotor is oil-cooled, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging flight conditions. standard fuel injection is included, with an optional high-pressure fuel injection (HPI) system available upon request.

Our drone engine construction kit is based on one of our essential engine designs, which can be outfitted with a carburettor and our latest fuel injection technology. Optional components include an exhaust system, silencer, or ECU (engine control unit).Additionally, the engine can be supplied with an e-drive or generator, utilizing a converter to produce electrical energy for batteries and super-capacitors. Engineering services

With over 35 years of expertise in engine development and associated systems, our expert Engineering Services provide a complete service catalog for the development of tailored propulsion concepts, optimization of existing systems, and integration of propulsion solutions into UAS platforms.

Engine Break-In Testing

Sky Power can perform break-in testing for your UAV engines on our in-house test stands, tailored to your specifications. This process ensures you receive a ready-to-fly engine that can be deployed instantly in your UAS or provided to customers, saving readiness time and enhancing convenience.

Endurance and Specification Testing

Sky Power conducts engine tests based on your specifications, simulating each unique usage parameter and thoroughly documenting the results. Our precise instruments allow for accurate measurement of fuel consumption, engine parameters, and exhaust gas temperatures.

We also perform endurance tests, subjecting your engines to 50 to 200 hours of continuous loading on our in-house test stands, along with climate tests. After each test,the engines are disassembled and inspected,with complete test results provided to you.

Our comprehensive testing capabilities include:

  • General performance assessment of combustion engines
  • Thrust and power measurement
  • Exhaust analysis
  • Engine indexing
  • Endurance testing
  • Blower,water,and oil pump analysis
  • Cylinder-head measurement
  • Load-change calculations
  • EMC measurements
  • Climate and temperature testing.

Overhaul and Maintenance

Detailed maintenance steps for each engine, which can be performed by the operator, are outlined in the operating manual, along with maintenance intervals. We can provide a spare parts kit for each engine, enabling you to conduct these tasks independently at any time.

More extensive maintenance tasks can be carried out by sky Power at our facility in Germany – please reach out to our Service Department for further details.

Upon reaching the maximum time between overhauls (TBO), which varies based on operating conditions and maintenance frequency, Sky Power can perform the overhaul at our facility.

Repair

In the event of a crash or significant incident, engines must be repaired by Sky Power’s Service Team – please contact us for an initial assessment of repair feasibility before sending in the engine. Comprehensive engine tests are conducted as part of the repair process to document the engine’s operational readiness.
