Gremsy, a prominent name in the production of gimbal stabilizers for professional cameras and drones, has unveiled the Pixy S, a cutting-edge industrial gimbal specifically engineered for the Sony α7R IV camera, while also being compatible with various drone systems.
As stated by Gremsy, the Pixy S is designed for mapping and inspection tasks, boasting enhancements in flight duration, stability, and precision.
Essential Features & advantages
OPTIMIZED FOR SONY α7R IV
The Pixy S is specifically crafted for the Sony α7R IV,a full-frame camera that delivers exceptional image quality with its 61-megapixel sensor, making it ideal for mapping and inspection applications. The design of the Pixy S streamlines the setup process, eliminating the need for complex balancing thanks to its innovative ‘slide & lock’ mechanism that securely holds the camera in place.
(*) Initial balancing is required and adjustments must be made for different lens configurations.
ENHANCED OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY
The Pixy S merges the robust motor capabilities of the Gremsy T3V3 with the compact form factor of the Pixy U. Notably, the tilt cage module is designed to optimize both size and weight while incorporating all essential functions.
When paired with the Sony α7R IV and the SEL55F18Z lens, the Pixy S weighs under 550g, offering a 25% increase in flight time compared to the Gremsy T3V3. Furthermore, the Pixy S features an upgraded Hotshoe signal connector, enabling precise geotagging of images.
Improvements to the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor, now positioned within the tilt cage module, enhance angular accuracy. The new design allows for speedy attachment and detachment in just two steps: sliding the L-cage and securing the clamp, facilitating rapid transitions between different camera systems.
WIDE COMPATIBILITY
The Pixy S is designed to work seamlessly with various drone platforms utilizing Pixhawk, CubePilot, or Skynode, providing a versatile solution for industrial mapping and inspection missions, while prioritizing user-friendliness and lightweight design for prolonged flight capabilities.
OPEN SDK FOR PROGRESS
The Pixy S supports an open SDK, featuring Sony SDK and gSDK samples, which facilitates embedded system development for a wide range of applications.
