Unlocking Innovation: ModalAI’s Cutting-Edge NDAA-Compliant ESCs & Image Sensors

ModalAI is expanding its technology offerings with the addition of three ESCs and a computer vision image sensor, joining its suite of NDAA-compliant products

ModalAI,a leading manufacturer of drone technology and autopilot systems under the Blue UAS Framework, has unveiled a range of new accessories that comply with NDAA regulations.

ModalAI’s New NDAA-Compliant Drone Components

With the introduction of three new Electronic speed Controllers (ESCs) and a cutting-edge computer vision image sensor, ModalAI is enhancing its technology portfolio.

As a pioneer in the production of UAS components that adhere to NDAA Section 848 from 2020, ModalAI has established itself as a key player in the industry.

The company has collaborated with the Defense innovation Unit (DIU) on two occasions to create complex autonomous autopilot systems for the Blue UAS Framework, which focuses on acquiring approved and interoperable hardware for UAS advancement. The VOXL 2 platform serves as the backbone of this initiative, having been integrated into over 300 UAS designs.

“VOXL 2 is propelling the industry towards cutting-edge UAS technology,” stated Chad Sweet, CEO and co-founder of ModalAI. “we are thrilled to expand our offerings of NDAA-compliant components that enhance the remarkable computing capabilities of VOXL 2.”

Both ESCs and image sensors play vital roles in drone functionality, managing motor speed and visual perception, respectively.

The newly designed, efficient active-braking ESCs are optimized for size, weight, and power (SWAP), ensuring enhanced reliability and thermal performance. Simultaneously occurring, the global shutter image sensor facilitates advanced computer vision applications.
