Revolutionizing Military Operations: Trillium Engineering’s Splash-to-target Tool
Trillium Engineering has considerably enhanced its Splash-to-Target functionality through the innovative SkyLink software.
New Features and Capabilities
The latest software upgrade allows users to pinpoint specific geographic coordinates as artillery positions, accommodating up to two active guns concurrently. Trillium’s SkyLink software assists operators by displaying overlay lines that connect the designated artillery to the target on both video feeds and maps.
Demonstrations and Feedback
In November 2023, Trillium Engineering showcased its technology to the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at Camp Lejeune, NC. The exhibition featured the Edge Autonomy Stalker VXE-30 Airframe paired with the Trillium HD45-LV-CZ. Following this successful event, the USMC provided constructive feedback, which has been instrumental in driving further advancements. This event marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing tactical operations using the splash-to-Target feature.
another demonstration took place at Camp Pendleton, California, in January 2024, where the focus was on testing the latest enhancements, especially the updated Gun Target Line through the Splash-to-Target feature.
Enhanced Targeting Precision
The software update empowers users to define two geo-located points, specify the angle from gun to target, and make necessary adjustments for left/right or elevation corrections, all from the gun’s perspective. Thorough calculations for the splash-to-target scenario are now available in NATO mils units as well as meters, offering improved clarity and accuracy in targeting assessments.
Expert Insights
