The Hook-On-Device (HOD) is designed for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and various aircraft, including helicopters, to relay their positional information. Its lightweight design allows for easy attachment to any aircraft type.
Equipped with an LTE modem and a SIM card, this device transmits its real-time GNSS location through LTE to the UAS traffic Management (UTM) system operated by DFS. Additionally, it can receive FLARM and ADS-B signals from nearby air traffic, sending this information along with its own position to the UTM system. UAS operators can access their own aircraft’s location as well as the positions of other relevant air traffic in the area via a web-based UTM tracker.
Moreover, the HOD broadcasts its position using FLARM (Flight Alarm), enhancing visibility to other airspace users equipped with FLARM technology.
