VectorNav Technologies, a leader in the advancement of inertial navigation systems tailored for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotic applications, has revealed that its Tactical Series of IMU and GNSS/INS products has successfully passed a comprehensive suite of MIL-STD and DO-160 qualification assessments.
The Tactical Series underwent rigorous evaluations conducted by independent, accredited organizations, covering standards such as MIL-STD-810G, DO-160G, MIL-STD-1275E, and MIL-STD-461. These assessments validate the devices’ durability against extreme temperatures, shocks, vibrations, and various environmental conditions, and also their compliance with multiple electrical interface and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards.
Overview of the Tactical Series
The Tactical Series comprises the following advanced products:
- VN-110 IMU/AHRS (Inertial Measurement Unit/Attitude Heading Reference System)
- VN-210 GNSS/INS (GNSS-Inertial Navigation System)
- VN-310 GNSS-Compass aided GNSS/INS
Key Features and Performance
Each product in the Tactical Series is equipped with a tactical-grade IMU, boasting a gyro bias stability of less then 1˚/hr. They also utilize VectorNav’s proprietary filtering techniques,INS,and GNSS-Compass algorithms. With attitude performance ranging from 1 to 2 mrad, these devices are housed in compact, rugged enclosures and include a 10-pin auxiliary port for seamless integration with external RTK and SAASM-based GNSS receivers, and also higher-performance imus.
Market Demand and Insights
Jakub Maslikowski, the Director of Sales and Marketing at VectorNav, stated: “The demand for reliable, tactical-grade navigation solutions that excel in harsh environmental and operational conditions is important. The Tactical Series stands out as the most compact and cost-effective INS available, offering remarkable performance and durability, making it the ideal choice for systems integrators in search of these capabilities.”
