ViaSatS New NSA-Certified Network Encryptors: KG-250XS and IPS-250X
ViaSat Inc., a prominent player in the global broadband services and technology sector, has recently unveiled it’s latest secure network encryptors, the KG-250XS and IPS-250X, both of which have received certification from the National Security Agency (NSA).
Advanced Tactical Interaction Solutions
The newly launched products are designed to facilitate tactical communications for classified data, utilizing low size, weight, and power (SWaP) rugged Type 1 High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) technology.
KG-250XS: Compact and Efficient
The KG-250XS stands out as ViaSat’s most compact and lightweight HAIPE IS v4.1 network encryptor, weighing in at around 10 ounces. it boasts an impressive aggregate speed of 20 Mbps, making it especially suitable for Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Details (TS/SCI) applications that require stringent size and weight limitations. This includes scenarios such as remote work, portable communication kits, executive communications, and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
IPS-250X: Inline Network Security
On the other hand, the IPS-250X functions as a HAIPE Inline Network Encryptor, enabling the secure transmission of classified information up to the Secret level. It is engineered to safeguard IP connections among U.S. military personnel, coalition allies, and government entities, irrespective of their deployment settings. This device eliminates the high logistics and lifecycle costs typically associated with Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI). The IPS-250X is also designed in a low SWaP rugged form factor and adheres to the NSA’s Cryptographic High Value Product (CHVP) non-CCI policy, making it ideal for high-risk and unmanned operational environments.
Commitment to Cybersecurity
“For many years, ViaSat has been dedicated to protecting U.S. government, military, and defense operations by ensuring the security of classified information transmitted over IP networks,” stated Jerry Goodwin, Chief Operating Officer of the Government Systems Division at ViaSat. “the NSA certification of our latest encryption solutions, the KG-250XS and IPS-250X, marks a important achievement in enhancing ViaSat’s cyber defense capabilities, providing warfighters with the flexibility to communicate securely with their commanders, no matter where their missions take them.”
