Power Distribution Units

Redundant power distribution for UAVs of all sizes

Our Power Distribution Units take in unregulated battery voltages from 24 to 60 VDC and deliver regulated outputs for distribution to subsystems within small to medium-sized UAVs. Two variants are available, with either 900 or 1800W of total output power.

The 900W PDU offers four independent power supply outputs, and three of these (including a low-power 5V output) provide full redundancy to ensure maximum safety and reliability for critical drone operations. The 1800W variant offers eight outputs – two each for avionics, servos, payloads, and low-power – with full redundancy provided on the avionics, servo, and low-power supplies.

All units can be monitored via RS232 serial or CAN to provide comprehensive voltage, current, power data and health information, and are housed in a rugged IP67-rated enclosure to ensure reliable operation in demanding environmental conditions.

2000W Generator Control Unit

Energy generation & storage for small to medium-sized UAVs

2000W Generator Control UnitThe Generator Control Unit (GCU) is designed to be combined with our Power Distribution Units to form a complete UAV power supply solution that handles electrical power generation, battery management, power distribution, and redundancy. It provides a main 1000W output for powering vehicle electronics, as well as two separate 500W outputs for rapid in-flight recharging or equipment powering.

The versatile and rugged system is IP67-rated and can be monitored via RS-232 or CAN to access information on voltages, currents and internal temperatures.

UAV Engine Starter

The UAV Engine Starter provides rapid and reliable starting of drone internal combustion engines up to 300cc in size without the use of decompression valves.

It accepts battery voltages from 20 to 55VDC and delivers maximum torque from standstill.

Power Combiners

Critical power redundancy with maximum efficiency

Our Ideal Diode Power Combiners allow you to couple two separate power sources to create a redundant system, while only dissipating minimal energy as heat. The highly efficient systems typically drop around ten times less voltage compared to regular power diodes, and are ideal for a variety of applications such as powering a drone ESC from two batteries.

The Power Combiners are available in 1500 or 5000W variants, and offer reverse polarity protection and tolerance of transient voltages of up to +100V.

Redundant power for mission-critical UAV subsystems

Redundant DC Power SupplyOur lightweight and small form factor Redundant DC Power Supply has been designed as an ultra-reliable source of power for mission-critical UAV sub-systems, offering selectable 5, 12 or 16V output. It can accommodate inputs from 2.5 up to 50V, allowing connection of LiPo drone batteries up to 12S.

The system incorporates two identical DC-DC switching converters, each capable of delivering up to 3A continuously with up to 96% efficiency.

15S Battery Cell Monitor & Balancer

Enhanced battery life and reliability for UAVs

15s Battery monitor and battery balancerThe 15S Battery Cell Monitor & Balancer transforms ordinary batteries into smart self-balancing power sources. It ensures optimal performance, improved system reliability and prolonged lifespans for multi-cell batteries.

The board-level instrument supports 9 to 15S batteries with LiPo, LiS or LiFe chemistries. Comprehensive data, including internal state, voltages, currents and temperatures, is sent to the vehicle’s CAN bus, and two front-panel LEDs provide “go/no go” indication of battery balance and charge.

A new variant for up to 24S batteries will be released soon.

Propulsion System Test Cell

Long-endurance testing services for UAV propulsion systems

We have developed a containerized Propulsion System Test Cell designed to provide comprehensive long-term testing of UAV combustion engines and ancillary systems. The versatile capability can be deployed at customer premises or other locations of your choice, and provides a wide range of options to suit your specific test requirements.

The unit features separate test and analysis rooms with noise-dampening walls, exhaust suction systems, and cooling systems. It can be equipped for rigorous and robust testing of 10, 20 or 40kW UAV engines.
