Volatus Aerospace Corp.has entered into a sales agency partnership with Xer Technologies to introduce the X8 heavy-duty hybrid electric engine drones across North America.
The Xer X8 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) is engineered for rigorous industrial tasks, including right-of-way inspections, asset evaluations, search and rescue missions, wildfire monitoring, and LiDAR and photogrammetry mapping. It boasts an impressive flight duration of 2.5 hours while carrying a payload of up to 3 kg, even in challenging weather conditions.
Rob Walker, COO of Volatus Aerospace, commented on the collaboration: “As our clients in the oil and gas, energy utilities, and rail sectors increasingly demand longer operational ranges, having a drone that meets these endurance requirements within regulatory weight limits is crucial. this 2.5-hour flight capability not only allows us to cover greater distances with heavier loads but also strengthens the case for remote operations.“
Gökmen Çetin, International Sales Manager at Xer Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “we were attracted to Volatus’ proven ability to assist original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in penetrating new markets, both as a service provider and distributor. Their expertise and established presence in the industry will ensure that the Xer X8 reaches the right audience. We are eager to see what we can achieve together.“
Dean attridge,VP of Solutions Engineering, elaborated: “There exists a gap that needs to be bridged between smaller,enterprise-level UAS drones used for current visual line-of-sight operations and larger, more complex systems that demand higher endurance and increased payload capacity.
“The Xer X8 UAS fulfills this requirement by offering a robust,high-endurance solution that connects conventional aviation with remotely piloted aircraft.“
Volatus plans to begin demonstrations in late July and will feature the Xer X8 UAS at APSCON in Houston from July 31 to August 2.
