Strategic Alliance to Revolutionize Aerial Services
Volatus Aerospace has joined forces with Dufour Aerospace to enhance it’s portfolio of unmanned cargo and aerial services, representing a pivotal advancement in Volatus’ capabilities within the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry.
Introducing the Aero2: A Game-Changer in Drone Technology
The collaboration with Swiss drone innovator Dufour Aerospace will facilitate the launch and commercialization of the Aero2, a hybrid-electric drone designed for long-endurance and heavy-lift operations across various global markets.
Characterized by its innovative tilt-wing architecture, the Aero2 can perform vertical takeoffs and landings akin to a helicopter while achieving the speed and energy efficiency of an airplane. With a payload capacity of 40 kg (88 lbs) and a range of 400 km (249 miles) in its standard configuration, this drone is notably suited for remote operations in challenging environments such as Canada and Africa. Its applications include aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and urgent medical deliveries.
Enhanced Operational Efficiency and Safety
the integration of the Aero2 into volatus’ services enhances flexibility and operational efficiency while adhering to stringent safety standards, all at reduced operational costs. The drone’s ability to transition between vertical takeoff and high-speed flight significantly broadens the scope of potential missions.
Leadership Insights on the Partnership
Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace, remarked, “Our recent collaboration with DroneUp has set the stage for further operational improvements. The addition of Dufour’s Aero2 hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft to our fleet allows us to greatly expand our operational capabilities and commercial objectives.”
“My confidence in this technology stems not only from witnessing the Aero2 in action but also from engaging with the talented team behind it. Incorporating the Aero2 into our growing fleet of advanced drones enhances our operational capabilities and accelerates the rollout of our Operations Control Center and remote operational services.”
Expanding Global Reach Through Collaboration
Sascha Hardegger, CEO of Dufour Aerospace, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with Volatus Aerospace, as this partnership merges Dufour’s cutting-edge VTOL technology with Volatus’ extensive operational experience and global reach. This strategic alliance allows us to leverage Volatus’ strong market presence to introduce our innovative Aero2 aircraft to underserved and challenging regions worldwide, particularly in remote communities. Together, we are not only broadening our operational capabilities but also enhancing our ability to deliver efficient, enduring, and essential aerial solutions on a global scale.”
