Volatus Aerospace Strengthens Pipeline monitoring in Eastern Canada

Canadian Air National Inc., a subsidiary of Volatus Aerospace, has entered into a three-year master service agreement with a prominent pipeline operator to oversee pipeline right-of-way assets and environmental monitoring across Ontario.

This partnership is projected to yield revenues of up to C$5 million over the duration of the contract, with profit margins aligning with historical standards for similar projects.

Pipeline Infrastructure in Canada

As reported by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), Canada boasts an extensive network of 840,000 kilometers of pipelines that transport essential liquids, including natural gas and crude oil. The maintenance of these pipelines is subject to stringent regulations enforced by both Provincial and Federal authorities. Regular aerial surveillance plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance and safeguarding the habitat by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards such as leaks, erosion, and encroachment from vegetation or third-party activities like construction and excavation.

Extensive Surveillance Services

Volatus Aerospace, through its subsidiaries Canadian Air National and Synergy Aviation, offers data collection and analytical services tailored for the oil and gas industry. The company provides pipeline right-of-way surveillance services that span from Kitimat, British Columbia, to Ottawa, Ontario. With weekly patrols conducted throughout the year, the Volatus Group monitors over 1,600,000 kilometers of pipeline infrastructure.

Innovative Approaches to Monitoring

“While light aircraft and helicopters have traditionally been the go-to solutions for pipeline monitoring, the future lies in drone technology,” stated Glen Lynch,CEO of Volatus. “We are positioning ourselves to enhance our competitive edge by integrating drones and electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the coming months and years. this transition will not only reduce costs for our clients but also improve safety and lower greenhouse gas emissions.”

Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

“Our clients in the oil and gas sector require dependable data,” emphasized Ben Ruszkowski, vice President of Business Advancement at synergy Aviation. “We deliver cost-effective, environmentally sustainable, and high-quality data solutions that protect their right-of-way assets and the surrounding environment through our proprietary technology.”
