Volatus Aerospace Expands Drone Cargo Operations with New License

Volatus Aerospace has recently secured a license from the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to operate all-cargo aircraft domestically. This significant advancement enables the company to enhance its drone cargo services under the Volatus brand, aligning with the expected regulatory updates from Transport Canada and the FAA.

strengthening Existing Capabilities

This new license complements the existing authorizations held by Volatus’s subsidiaries, Partner Jet Inc. (operating as Volatus Aviation) and Synergy Aviation, thereby broadening the scope of their operational capabilities.

Vision for the Future

Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace Corp, emphasized the importance of this license in realizing their long-term vision for drone cargo operations.“This is a crucial milestone as we prepare for the arrival of our first 3.8-ton Natilus Kona uncrewed regional feeder aircraft, which we announced in January 2022,” he stated. He acknowledged that while the commercial drone cargo sector is still in its infancy, the company anticipates that its primary revenue streams over the next few years will continue to derive from data analytics, intelligence services, and equipment sales.

Current Operations and Future Prospects

Michael Hill, Regional Director for volatus, noted that the company’s current cargo operations are primarily conducted using smaller drones. these drones are particularly effective for delivering goods to remote areas, inter-island locations, industrial sites, and for medical and offshore applications. “These practical use cases are instrumental in enhancing our expertise and solidifying our reputation as a reliable cargo drone operator,” he added.

Looking Ahead

As the landscape of drone logistics evolves, Volatus Aerospace is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the cargo sector, paving the way for innovative solutions in the transportation of goods.
