WOLF introduces rugged embedded systems powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, delivering next-gen edge AI performance for defense and aerospace sensor fusion applications

WOLF is advancing its product portfolio with a new line of rugged embedded systems powered by the NVIDIA® Jetson Thor™ platform, designed to meet the growing demands of edge AI and autonomous applications.

The NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform delivers a significant leap forward in Artificial Intelligence computing at the edge, engineered to support next-generation autonomous systems, generative AI workloads, and real-time multi-sensor fusion.

Powered by NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell architecture, Jetson Thor offers up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI performance, backed by 128 GB of high-bandwidth LPDDR5X memory. Its compact, power-configurable design (ranging from 40 W to 130 W) sets a new standard for dense, energy-efficient embedded AI computing.

Key advancements within the Blackwell architecture include the Multi-Instance GPU (MIG), which enables secure hardware partitioning of GPU resources. This capability ensures partitioned workloads maintain predictable throughput, latency, quality of service (QoS), and fault isolation—critical for mission-essential applications demanding enhanced performance and security.

WOLF’s rugged embedded system modules combine the next-generation compute power of NVIDIA Jetson Thor with WOLF’s advanced networking and I/O technologies, delivering a platform optimized for low-latency, real-time multi-sensor applications. The Jetson Thor module integrates a 14-core Arm® Neoverse®-V3AE CPU alongside embedded accelerators such as a third-generation Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA), dual video encoders/decoders, and an optical flow engine.

WOLF extends this foundation by incorporating a front-end ConnectX-7 interface, enabling PCI Express Gen5 connectivity and 200 Gigabit Ethernet networking capabilities. Standard support for x16 PCIe Gen4 and 100G + 2x25G configurations further expands bandwidth and throughput well beyond the module’s native capabilities.

Sensor fusion and high-speed I/O are managed through WOLF’s proven FGX technology, supporting essential interfaces such as ARINC-818, CoaXPress, SDI, and analog video. These interfaces are critical for mission-ready embedded systems deployed in defense and aerospace environments. Additionally, WOLF solutions incorporate IEEE 802.1DP Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) for deterministic network performance, along with secure storage options exceeding 1TB, tailored for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.

These combined enhancements position WOLF’s Jetson Thor-based solutions as uniquely suited for demanding defense and aerospace applications that require ruggedness, high performance, and tightly integrated sensor processing.

Building on the success of its SOSA® Aligned Orin product line, WOLF is preparing to release flagship 3U and 6U SOSA-aligned VPX products featuring the Jetson Thor platform, targeted for early 2026 availability. WOLF’s agile design and manufacturing approach also enable rapid customization and feature integration to address evolving operational needs, ensuring that advances enabled by Jetson Thor can be seamlessly incorporated into both new and existing rugged platforms.
