WOLF is enhancing it’s product lineup with a robust series of embedded systems powered by the NVIDIA® Jetson Thor™ platform, tailored to address the increasing requirements of edge AI and autonomous technologies.
The NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform represents a substantial advancement in edge Artificial Intelligence computing, specifically designed to facilitate next-generation autonomous systems, generative AI tasks, and real-time multi-sensor integration.
Utilizing NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Blackwell architecture, Jetson Thor boasts an notable performance of up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS for AI applications, supported by 128 GB of high-speed LPDDR5X memory. Its compact and power-configurable design, with options ranging from 40 W to 130 W, establishes a new benchmark for energy-efficient embedded AI computing.
Greg Maynard, Chief Technology Officer at Wolf advanced Technology, remarked, “The NVIDIA Jetson Thor modules open up new avenues for intelligent machinery and embedded edge AI. We are excited to develop products that leverage this technology, and we encourage our customers and partners to collaborate with us early to create tailored solutions that meet thier specific requirements.”
Notable innovations within the Blackwell architecture include the Multi-instance GPU (MIG), which allows for secure hardware partitioning of GPU resources. this feature guarantees that partitioned workloads achieve consistent throughput, latency, quality of service (QoS),and fault isolation—essential for mission-critical applications that require enhanced performance and security.
WOLF’s rugged embedded system modules merge the advanced computing capabilities of NVIDIA Jetson Thor with WOLF’s complex networking and I/O technologies, creating a platform optimized for low-latency, real-time multi-sensor applications. The Jetson Thor module features a 14-core arm® Neoverse®-V3AE CPU, along with embedded accelerators such as a third-generation Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA), dual video encoders/decoders, and an optical flow engine.
WOLF enhances this foundation by integrating a front-end ConnectX-7 interface, which facilitates PCI Express Gen5 connectivity and 200 Gigabit Ethernet networking capabilities. Standard support for x16 PCIe Gen4 and 100G + 2x25G configurations significantly boosts bandwidth and throughput beyond the module’s inherent capabilities.
Sensor fusion and high-speed I/O are efficiently managed through WOLF’s established FGX technology, which supports critical interfaces like ARINC-818, CoaXPress, SDI, and analog video. These interfaces are vital for mission-ready embedded systems utilized in defense and aerospace sectors. Moreover, WOLF solutions incorporate IEEE 802.1DP Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) to ensure deterministic network performance, along with secure storage options exceeding 1TB, specifically designed for high-throughput, low-latency tasks.
These complete enhancements position WOLF’s Jetson Thor-based solutions as exceptionally suited for rigorous defense and aerospace applications that demand durability, high performance, and tightly integrated sensor processing.
Building on the success of its SOSA® Aligned Orin product line, WOLF is set to launch flagship 3U and 6U SOSA-aligned VPX products featuring the Jetson Thor platform, anticipated for release in early 2026. WOLF’s agile design and manufacturing capabilities also allow for rapid customization and feature integration to meet evolving operational demands, ensuring that advancements enabled by Jetson Thor can be seamlessly integrated into both new and existing rugged platforms.
