The Workhorse Proteus is an advanced ADCP (acoustic Doppler current profiler) that is ideal for AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles) and gliders as well as USVs (uncrewed surface vessels). Featuring Teledyne’s most advanced Doppler processing platform and catalyst edge processor, it is ideal for collecting measurements of flow, transport, and discharge in oceans, estuaries and rivers.

The unit features five beams for direct measurement of vertical velocity, with a narrow beamwidth for higher precision and low error velocity. A new AHRS provides better orientation compensation, leading to more accurate data collection and more conclusive results. Proteus includes both serial and Ethernet interfaces for easy integration into a variety of platforms.
