Introducing the XPand6103: A Compact Powerhouse for Unmanned Systems

Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) has unveiled the XPand6103,recognized as the most compact and robust fanless embedded box computer in the market, powered by the Intel® core™ i7 processor. This advanced computing platform is meticulously crafted for small unmanned systems, excelling in environments that are both challenging and space-restricted.

Performance and Modularity Redefined

The XPand6103 is engineered to enhance processing capabilities, thermal efficiency, and modularity while keeping costs and dimensions to a minimum. It achieves this by incorporating the latest industry-standard components, including X-ES’s Rugged COM Express™ modules like the XPedite7450. These modules feature cutting-edge Intel Core i7 and Freescale QorIQ™ processors, all within a compact, thermally efficient, and durable circuit board design. Additionally, the internal 64 GB Slim SATA SSD memory module merges the advantages of high-capacity off-the-shelf storage wiht the dependability and speed of SLC NAND Flash memory.

Comprehensive I/O Connectivity

Equipped with a variety of I/O interfaces, the XPand6103 utilizes rugged, environmentally sealed M12 connectors. The standard setup includes DisplayPort++ video output, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB connections, four CAN Bus interfaces, and RS-232/RS-422 ports. For enhanced connectivity, the system can be customized to include up to two 10 Gigabit Ethernet 10GBASE-T interfaces. With three internal PCI Express Mini slots and the capability to support two external antennas, the XPand6103 provides a versatile range of additional I/O configurations, including WLAN, cellular, and GPS options.

Streamlined Power Management

The XPand6103 is designed to seamlessly integrate into various transportation applications without necessitating extra power conditioning, thereby reducing overall system costs and complexity. This is made possible by its wide nominal input voltage range and adherence to power specifications such as SAE J1455, EN50155, ISO-7637-2, MIL-STD-1275, and MIL-STD-704.

Durability in Extreme conditions

Thanks to its fully rugged and environmentally sealed design, the XPand6103 is capable of functioning in the most demanding conditions. It meets stringent standards for shock and vibration as outlined in IEC61373,EN50155,and MIL-STD-810,along with water immersion requirements of IP67. Moreover, it operates efficiently across a temperature range from -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for a variety of harsh environments.
